Impotence: an overview
Impotence: an overview |
Impotence is a common problem in men and can be
characterized as a constant inability to maintain or maintain an erection
sufficient for intercourse or an inability to achieve ejaculation. Impotence
can vary from man to man. In other words, a complete inability to achieve an
erection or ejaculation, an inconsistent skill to do so, and a tendency to
maintain an erection for less time can all be defined as impotence.
The risk of impotence is high with age. According to one
study, it is higher in men over 60 than in men over 40. It is also said that
men with less education suffer more from impotence. There are many reasons for
this, such as having a less healthy lifestyle, eating less healthy, and
exercising less. Here is the list of the causes of impotence that it
incorporates.
• High cholesterol level
• Heart disease
• Metabolic syndrome
• Obesity
• Peyronie's disease
• Parkinson's disease
• Substance abuse
• Insomnia or trouble sleeping
• Relationship problems
• Disease of the blood vessels such as peripheral vascular
disease
• Hormonal imbalance
• Systemic disease
The causes of impotence in men with a wise age group can be
classified into three categories which are as follows.
1. Young men: Anxiety is one of the most common causes of
impotence in young men. This can include worrying about someone getting
pregnant, not wanting to show their inexperience, and worrying about losing an
erection while putting a condom on your penis.
2. Middle-aged men: The reasons for impotence in middle-aged
men can include stress, guilt, and sex with a new partner.
3. Older Men: Although analysis shows 65% to 70% of men over
70 are sexually active, but the risk of impotence is high as they get older. It
can be associated with dysfunction of the blood vessels that carry blood to the
penis and also with dysfunction of the heart or brain arteries. Both men and
women can have issues that impact their sex life, such as loss of libido or
inability to maintain an erection, problems with premature ejaculation, etc.
There are many reasons why men can have sexual problems.
If you have trouble maintaining an erection or ejaculating,
this is an embarrassing situation. But you are not alone in hearing this
problem, there are a lot of men who have the same problem and research shows
that two and a half million men have some kind of sexual dysfunction all the
time. However, it's not something you might want to discuss with your closest
friends, but it's more essential that you get some advice if you're worried.
Also, the physical and psychological reasons for impotence can be explained as
mentioned below.
1. Physical Reasons: Here are the physical reasons for impotence.
• Side effects of drugs (in particular, drugs for
hypertension and
depression)
• Infection or disease
• Diabetes
• Excessive alcohol consumption and smoking
• Obesity or overweight
• Artery dysfunction, especially in older men with high
blood pressure
2. Psychological reasons: The psychological reasons for impotence is as follows.
• Stress (may be related to sex and other aspects of life)
• Concern about sex
• Depression and fatigue
• Agitation
• Feelings of guilt about sexual performance
In my opinion, most of the physical and psychological
reasons for impotence are not permanent. They can leave as quickly as they show
up. However, if something is haunting you and your partner, you may be seeking
medical attention and many men have admitted that after treatment their lives
are completely transformed.
